Welcome to Rival Kingdoms, Crows! Empty Welcome to Rival Kingdoms, Crows!

I have been playing for 4 months and gave up the Murder of Crows I started when no one responded to my call to join me in GroupMe. I merged my core players (all of whom I met in Rival Kingdoms - none of them Crows we know) into a kingdom called TheFreeAlliance. As TheFreeAlliance, we had a number of other successful mergers and I became its queen a little over 2 months ago. We are now Kingdom Fame 135 with 3 Sentinels with 20% bonus, a Kingdom Portal that holds 8 troops, and maxed raiders (4 raiders, +25% gold). We are at 39/46 members as I type. Sadly, this means I cannot abandon the team I put together when you all ignored my pleas to play to join you guys. But if you grow really fast, maybe some sort of merger is in our futures down the road.

For now, I just want to help you guys however I can. I tried to start a second game on my phone to play with you guys but it wouldn't let me - it automatically loaded my current game on my phone. I was going to catch up to you guys real quick with a mini and start posting replays of tactics I know work well or not in certain situations. But since I can't, I highly recommend you all use the replay function whenever you have a strategy go really well... or really poorly, so you all can learn from each other. Be sure to post what ancient you used in your replays since they are not all familiar to you all yet. And all strategies are based on what ancient you use. I'll start posting some general tips...

Some general tips:

  • Get to know your ancients. In general, epics are better than rares are better than superiors are better than commons. But that is not 100% true. Some rares are better than some epics, at least under level 30 or so. And some are not very useful at all until you can max them. Elder mages are nearly useless in battle but GREAT for spell towers. But try every one you get - different ancients suit different playing styles.
  • LEVEL your ancients. But only the ones that you use (either in battle or as your spell tower ancients - those can be two totally different sets of ancients!) Their powers get much, much better as they level and are very often the difference between winning and losing.
  • DRAGONS! If you have not completed the Tracking Foreveil campaign, do so as soon as possible then build the Dragon Roost as soon as possible. Then you can use her in battle! She not only attacks buildings like troops but sweeps the base doing more damage and freezing buildings. LEVEL HER as much as possible. She is not only likely your dragon troop for quite some times, but also extremely useful as an ancient far, far, far into the game (I just finished my SH13 upgrade and I still use her at least a few times every day). When you get Viscaria, max her an make her your dragon. Be warned: you may have to play months before you get her. I didn't get her until I won her in an ARENA chest after being in arena like a month. She is a VERY RARE drop!
  • ALWAYS BE UPGRADING TROOPS. ALWAYS. When you upgrade your SH, the first thing you should upgrade, always, always, always, is the blacksmith (where you upgrade troops) and barracks (which unlocks new troops). Then upgrade your troops to their next level. In this game, you start with soldiers. The most generic, boring troop there is. You will get much cooler troops as you progress. But you will ALWAYS use your soldiers, throughout the game. Because you constantly upgrade them and make them stronger.
  • In general, when you upgrade a SH, this is the priority for which buildings to upgrade:
    0) if you can build a new portal, DO IT! If you get a portal upgrade is one that provides more troops, those first (especially if it makes it to an even number!)
    1) any new defenses
    2) blacksmith and barracks
    3) dragon roost (if available that level)
    4) ancient shrine
    5) area damage defenses
    6) single target damage defenses
    7) walls
Cool gold buildings. in fact, I ONLY upgrade gold storage when I need it to be able to upgrade something else!
  • Rotate the Raider position. If you have opened a lot of them, it's a cool reward to the player with the highest 7-day loyalty to get a permanent (until surpassed in loyalty!!!) raider position. But the raider bonus helps SO much that it really helps the team for EVERYONE to get it. Just have people look to see if a current raider is offline, then ask if they have stones to spend and want a raider spot for a bit. A raider position given to someone offline is gold wasted IMO.
